Has anyone here used one of these 236.6 watt TEC's (UT15,200,F2,4040 UltraTEC)?
A TEC is a TEC....they are pretty much the same the world over whoever makes them even from the Far East but Laird are good manufacturers with a good reputation.
That's a nice 19915 unit.
That is an amazingly beefy little 40mm unit. It is a small package for a 199 couple TEC they must be pretty densely packed in there - it is designed for high heat transfer in a small package. The only problem I can see is that one might be better having that kind of heat exchange with a larger unit i.e. having a larger surface area for heat exchange. You would have to have a pretty efficient thermal transfer of the heat off the hotside (potentially getting on for 400w.) if you used this unit at high power.
That said this unit would be a excellent candidate for undervolting in a multiple TEC configuration especially with the low current/high voltage relationship and it's small size.
I think the main problem will be whether Laird will sell this in small enough numbers for the hobbyist with no pricing and minimal specs it looks to me like a made to order job.
I think 15.4 volts makes it a 127xx... 199xx are 24 volts I think.
Sort by size then look at the 40mm tecs
