Cause TCCD only comes in 512MB stick, they don't have TCCD for 1GB, otherwise it will be $200 for each 1GB stick with 2-2-2-5 DDR400, 2.5-3-3-7 for DDR550

timings really don't matter much. I would go with 2GB hands down. Games load much faster and play smooth as silk.

definitly 2GB, 1GB isnt enough for BF2 on high

And you probably wont be able to play it on high still without a near top of the line comp proc/card =( Bf2 is a real hog.

That is completely untrue. There is no possible way that having faster sticks can outperform a greater quantity. The difference between your system having to do a read/write to a hard drive versus ram is major. Remember, your system uses ram in the following order:

L1 cache,L2 cache,system Ram,PageFile on hard drive.

If a program or application can use the extra ram, the performance difference would be huge. A hard drive can't compete with ram under any circumstances. Get the 2 gigs if you can afford it.

To me, this seems to be the problem. annoyingly, I previewed, left for two hours, and then posted my thread. When I came back, I found this one. Doh.

But seriously: If you're using LESS than 1GB, logically it would be better to have the faster RAM? If you're only using half of it, then the higher performance would surely make a big difference, and would also provide a better OC speed and higher FSB speed.

If you're using MORE than 1GB, then obviously it's gonna run faster than having 1GB of fast memory would, right?

The sad thing is, it's just not as cool to say 'I have 2GB of 'Good memory' than it is to say 'Yeah, I have the best 1GB of memory money can buy'

This is an annoying problem! Still, I think I'll go for the 2GB kits, thinking about it. Even with a GeForce 7800GTX and a X2 4400 OC'd, BF2 still doesn't run as I want it to. So I suppose it's time to get some MORE memory!

YES go for the 2gb kit, running 2 gigs will increase performance no worries- people that say only go 1 gig are the people that have probably never tried the 2 gig option, I run 4x512 sticks at a poor 190mhz with loose timings and still get better performance than with the 2 sticks running at 245mhz and tight timings. GO THE 2 GIG.......and who cares if its cool or not, performance is what is COOL. by all means if you want to run 3d05 20 times a day and stuff with rediculous timings and settings then go the 1 gig but if you want to get down to business and be on the map first.....2 gig

get the 2Gb. it's already DDR500, so that's 250Mhz. with more voltage you can go higher than that, and you'll appreciate having 2Gb, especially in the future as more games start to use 2Gb. BF2 is only the start of what will come.

Get 2 gigs now or you'll be getting it later.
