Question about onboard audio, SB Audigy 2, and Headphone/Mic input

I have the DFI SLI-DR and the Karajan module comes with the headers for the headphones/mic leads that wire from the front of my case. I'm not sure how this works because if I use the headers on that module and I disable the onboard audio, would the headphone/mic input still work?

Now, in the picture below, is the Karajan Module you speak of the red-corded front audio bracket?

Now, if I read your question correctly, you want to know if, when you install the Audigy, if the Mic jack will still work on the Karajan after you turned off integrated audio?

I think that's the FrontX Panel

The Karajan is just a little standoff that goes on the back of the motherboard and gives you 6 audio ports on the back I/O Panel of the computer. I'm not sure whether all this is integrated into the onboard audio, but I will probably need to disable for the sound blaster to work properly and that might disable the usage of the mic and headphones from the front of the case.

It probably will disable it. Audigy cards have a mic input on the rear panel. If you go with the Audigy 2 platinum then it has it's own front panel.

If you have a SoundBlaster card, why not just hook up the front audio to that? It would probably be the correct configuration.

Are you sure it does? Because the mic/heatphone leads are those little block things (the ones that look like the power/reset switches and leds). I'm not sure if the sound card has something like that on its card.

Oh, I see your question.

The Audigy will definatly have some front audio headers on it, so I'd email Creative to see what headers hook up what. You'd probably be able to use your current front audio off of the SB.
