Hey guys, I'll be building a watercooled i7 computer using a HAF 922 case. My plans are to powder coat the case hot candy blue. The color theme will be blue and black.
I started by taking apart the case. Here's some pics.

It ain't a DIY without some blood! Ya those plastic things that lock the cd drives into place, they were a b*tch to come out

My trusty pc tools.

The next thing I did was prep the parts by cleaning them with denatured alcohol and a cheesecloth followed by a quick wipe with a tack cloth. You can also see the powder coating gun I use in the pic.

Here's a pic of one of the pieces in the oven.

The next part of the story is a bit of a disaster. The oven was too small for the bigger pieces but being the stubborn person I am, I continued the powder coating only to end up with a bunch of orange peels and other crap. I decided to scrap this case and start over using a bigger oven

I bought a new case and stripped it down once again. I did the prep once again. I started the powder coating once again. BUT, this time it worked to my liking
This is the base coat, ultimate patented chrome.

Tomorrow I'll be finishing up the powder coating with the hot candy blue. Stayed tuned for more. I'll be updating this log as I get things done.
