Here's a bios template for that board (attached)
VTT is CPU Term on these boards (try to set this to .03/.04 below vcore in CPU-Z)
The North Bridge is MCH Core
South Bridge is ICH Core

I'll find you some really good bios settings for super high clocks posted by grishkathefool and come back and edit this post. Print a bios template to use for oc attempts.

Edit: Okay, here's grishka's list: Sweet Clocks list. You got into Windows at 4 GHz 1.18v so some of these settings could really push you close to 5 GHz--seriously.

I'm going on the record to say that chip does 5 GHz stable.

Also:Gigabyte EP45-UD3 Series Owners Guide. All the UD3 owners hang there.

I was thinking that this should be reachable the chip seem to easy to work with. I mean as unfamiliar as I am with this board and a half baked water cooling system I was pretty impressed with how well it did so far. I had this stable in my test rig at 4.4 already. That was on my DFI x38 board and a real makeshift cooling system. Just think,The person that won this on eBay backed out on the sale so that was why I set it up I got lucking on the board it just happen to be the one I needed for my hackintosh how cool Now I get to have so good fun and prove the chip out.

Man thanks for your help I have been fumbling around in the dark. I mostly overclock my rig when I get it set up and find a good stable 24/7 clock and run till I upgrade. So I get rusty as hell and need to get up to speed each time with each board.

You bet. The opportunity to work with that chip is awesome in itself; it's only a major plus that it's ready to Rock the F'ing House at low voltages.

Me and everyone here would really appreciate all the feedback you give on that chip. Lots of screenies: volts/speeds/temps.

If you ever decide to sell it, all those screens would be a major selling point--especially since it's under water and nice and cool.

I see 5 GHz with only a few major adjustments:
vcore
cpu term

MCH Core
MCH Ref

Ram voltage

These boards scale the Refs automatically if you use a certain method for setting them. I'll find the guide and edit this post. But, to be honest, you probably won't even have to worry about that. If the chip handles 500 fsb, 10 x 500 = 5 GHz. Then, you'd just have to adjust the vcore, Term, MCH and RAM.

Remember, I'm calling 5 GHz stable...not just a Validation. I really think that chip's going to do it.

If you have not yet arrived at workable #s,then select auto or Normal. Normal seems to do very well.
So, to have to cpu REF and MCH Ref scale automatically, go in and set the CPU Term to it's stock value--1.20 I believe. Next set the CPU Ref and MCH Ref both to stock values while the CPU Term is at stock. Now, as you raise the CPU Term again (or again later) the Refs will scale automatically. You can always go back in later and try to lower them a touch and see if it stays stable.

Ok This my gig I will take to 5Ghz if you guys help. after that I think this needs to find a home. I just can't believe how this thing is clocking with little or no work. the 4.2 clock is intel burn stable game stable and prime for a hour of so. I did Benchmarks in 3dmark Vantage to no a crash at 4.2. I thought that is stable

For this 3.95 I called 4 hours Orthos Small FFts and 4 hours Orthos Blend stable. Only because I'm not done oc'ing yet. So that'll work for now.

A lot of us consider a 99.99% stable oc equal to this (Orthos/Prime are the same thing so they are interchangeable):
12+ hours Orthos/Prime 95 Small FFTs stable
Next 8+ hours Orthos/Prime 95 Blend stable
memtest86+ 5 full passes stable RAM

These 3 steps usually mean it's as close to stable as it's going to get. But after oc'ing for a while you get a "feel" for stability and can cut corners if you plan to make changes rather soon, like I will later today.

I'll definitely be following this thread.

crashdummy is spot on, if you need any help on the bios options or how high is too high ask in the ud3 owners guide it is the best thread for these boards
