[Mod] Corsair H50 with 240mm Radiator

Thread Starter
Thats right. I am going to mod an H50 to add a 240mm radiator. I have been wanting to do this a while now and after seeing other people successfully add their own tubing I thought I would take it one step further.

We shall see how the little pump can handle an extra 120mm.

Parts:

Corsair H50
1/4inch Clear Tubing
Swiftech MCR220 Radiator
2 x Danger Den 1/4 inch barbs
2 x High Speed Yate Loons

I still need to get distilled water (leaving in 10min to go get it) and I will be assembling it all tonight. Should be a fun little mod if everything works out. Not a biggie if it fails as all of this stuff cost less then $100.

Anyways heres a pic of the radiator, barbs and tubing. The H50 is still in the computer (im using it right now to type this). I will update everything with pics as I go along.

the only issue I have right now is how to mount the rad to my case. I have only a 120mm blow hole right now. I will need to either make another one or mount it outside the case. Tonight though it will just the be sitting on the floor outside until I can figure out a more elegant solution. My case is kinda small but I would like to everything to be inside. Will most likely go with the radiator at the top of case though.

Nice plan

Hang the rad off of the back or put it in the top/floor if you have room.

Get Before/After temps

Something similar:

If Corsair requested more out of Asetek, then anything would be possible. Prolly in the future, we will have more options from Corsair/Asetek. But Sexybastard is going to do it 1st. W000!

The Corsair H50 is an OEM product made by Asetek btw. --> http://www.asetek.com/content/view/405/191/

I can't wait to see the final mod Sexybastard!

I was thinking about doing something like this. I was thinking about buying the H50 and modding it to work with an awesome rad, and some beast fans. I guess I just never had the cash to make an attempt at pulling it off.

thanks for the well wishes.

I just got back from the store with a gallon of distilled water. Good thing I also have a laptop so I can update as I go along.

I am gonna start right after this post. Keep tuned.

Hmm, this will be interesting to see. I'd mount in at the top of my case if I were doing this and had enough room.
Whatever decision you make, good luck.
