Installing Zalman vf700

Thread Starter
im just installing a zalman vf700 on my x850 pro and was wondering if it would hurt anything to have a little thermal paste on the tiny silver things on the core of the card. after removing the stock heatsink, there was a lot of paste on it and when cleaning it off it got on one of them. I cleaned it off the best I could with a q-tip. also would using alcohol to clean it off hurt anything?

No, don't worry about that. Remove as much as you can, but it won't hurt anything. Using alcohol is fine as well

Not if its pure alcohole

Just try to remove as much as you can cuz some thermal paste like artic silver can act as a guidance for electricity. But you can probably remove a lot with pure alcohole (90%) and since its the stock paste it shouldn't matter a lot. Just be carefull when you apply Artic silver
