My computer is going to have the Glow.

So it posted and runs. Now I just need to reconfigure everything which is going to suck. Plus I have a new Bios to learn.

So I decided that the GPU can wait.

Still got to setup my raid 0 array and reinstall windows on it. Surprisingly I just hooked up my old windows installation and it worked after 10min of driver installs.

No overclocking for awhile I guess.

4 Cores Woot!

Ok so I got the raid array up. Im using the Marvell Raid controller. Fresh install of Windows Vista 64bit. Just doing updates and installing programs.
I have 7 days off starting tomorrow, so I will do some PC Mark Vantage to compare scores from my last build.

Going out tommorrow and picking up a Corsair h50 and Ultra Kaze 120 3000RPM.
Mounting it in the front of my case.
Airflow will go like:
<--Tri-Cool<--Rad<--Shroud<--Kaze

I forgot all about my insurance payments($350 every 3 months), which coupled with my binge drinking I need to push back purchasing my WC setup.

Also I figured a way to recoupe all my money for the project is to throw all my old parts in a Antec 300, and sell it for around $700-$800.

The system im selling will be like this:
Case:Antec 300
PSU:Corsair TX750
Mobo: Asus P5N-D
CPU:E8400 OC'd 4.0GHZ
CPU Cooler: Corsair H50
RAM: G.Skill 4GB DDR2 800
GPU: evga 8800GT 512MB Superclocked
HDD: Barracuda 7200.10 250GB
Optical: Lite On DVDRW/CDRW
OS:Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit

So I went out and bout the H50(10,000 Yen) and the Ultra Kaze 3000RPM(1490 Yen) and an arctic clean kit (1480 Yen). New egg wanted $23 for shipping so I said screw that and payed a little more to have it now.

So for the H50 I made a fan shroud out of a spare Slip Stream I have. Its only 25mm thick so I am going to make a 38mm thick one later to compare test results.

Only problem now is the screws aren't long enough. I estimate I will need 4ea of the following screw sizes
6 x 32 x 1 3/4" (38mm+1/4")
6 x 32 x 2 3/4" (25mm+38mm+1/4")
6 x 32 x 3 1/4" (38mm+38mm+1/4")

So I took the Stock mounting bracket off and saw the the screws were 6 x 32 x 1/2" which I was able to use to mount the Ultra Kaze to the rad like so:

Basically I can't mount the H50 directly to the front I would have to do L brackets and mount it into the Drive bays. Whch requires a trip to the hardware store.

So the only other way I could get it to work was to mount it on a rear fan. Problem with that is all the hot air is in the back of the case. So I Reversed the air flow. All the Cool air is getting sucked into the back and the hot air is being pushed to the front and out the top.

Test Settings: 28c Ambient, H50 TIM, 3.4GHZ(Stock)

Stock Fan: Idle 44c Load 52c
-->Ultra Kaze 3000RPM-->Rad: Idle 34c Load 42c (10 degree drop wow!)
-->Ultra Kaze 3000RPM-->Rad-->H50: Fan Idle 34c Load 42C (Same)

Note*: I treid to mount the rad in the top rear position but it doesn't have enough clearance.

Now I still want to test the shroud just need to get the longer screws.

All this has taught me something. The Antec 1200 sucks and I never should never have bought it. The thing I hate most is how the Drive Bays/ HDD cages are configured. Plus there just isn't enough room to properly mount the rad.

IMO all HDD cages should face the side of the case. #1 it hides the cables with zero effort, and #2 it makes it easier to remove/install HDD's.

So now I am probably going to buy a 800D or 840 ATCS.

Corsair almost has a monopoly on Computer Components. If AMD were to buy Corsair, they would be unstoppable.

OK I mounted the shroud and thw 25mm one didn't help. Im guessing that shrouds for a radiator or worthless as its all about the static pressure. Maybe a heatsink a shroud would work better.

So I went to my Local computer store and inquired about getting it ordered through them, so I can skip out on the $95 S&H. They will get back to me on the 5th.

In the meantime I will continue to be depressed because this god-like case isn't in my possession.
