Lol, so none of "my gfx card pwns your gfx card."

I might go for the XFX, it seems to be alot cheaper. I think ill go for this one: http://www.morecomputers.co.uk/textr...eferer=Froogle

But in the end, buy the time im saved up 200 hundred quid (ive got 50 atm), the prices will have gone down by about £30.

Cheers. Hope youve had a fun boxing day

Your GT came out of the box at 450/1200!! Dayum. lol

I can run 1200 in game, but I usually don't. Mine out of the box was 450/1150

I have just got my second 6800LE (each 256MB) up and running... I will be looking at OC'ing them today/tomorow. Provided I have the power needed to do so. My non-OC 3Dmark05 score with the SLI is 5642, with an ASUS A8N-SLI MB, while a single at 3010 just topped the 2690pts a 6600GT gets. That is a 94% increase for the second card... much better than the 86% you get with 2 6600GT's. I took up the 6800LE's for the reasons you quoted, the have the 6800 core and can be OC'd 20-30%. I'll keep this thread updated if you're interested in the results. BTW, I bought the first LE for 220 Euro when the first came out, the second last week for 162 Euro. 382 Euros total so far for 5642 banchmark points vs Tom's HW listing an ASUS 7800GTX Extreme with 5879pts. There is little contest on price, the LE's are much cheaper, but you end up maxing your upgradability.
PS, yes they are both PCIe cards.

If you're wondering what the best 7800gt to buy would be...
I'd say get the eVGA 7800GTCO, cause its cheaper, clocks almost as fast as a GTX (470/1100), and it has a lifetime warranty,

It only clocks as fast as a GTX at stock An over clocked GTX will go much further than a GT

Well this was my first OC experience and I chickened out before I maxed the GPU's - I have allready pumped the Mhz from 300/400 to 400/700 respectivly - I'm happy with them at this level for now... lets recap - all pts with 3dMark05.

Single card non OC tested or quoted by Toms HW Guide

http://www.tomshardware.com/2005/12/...ia/page39.html

MSI 6600 GT Diamond 2397
OC MSI 6600 GT Diamond 2690
Leadtec 6800 LE (PCIe) 3010
OC Leadtec 6800 LE 3660
Gigabyte 7800 GT 5113
OC Asus 7800 GTX Extreme 5879
OC Gigabyte 7800 GT 6076
OC Asus 7800 GTX Extreme 6524

SLI Mode
Leadtec 6800 LE 5642
OC Leadtec 6800 LE 6641

The numbers are there, the dual 6800 LE's keep up with the 7800's, bettering most of them. The entry level of SLI 7800's is 9450 pts... OC Asus 7800 GTX Extreme in SLI caps at 11391.

Hope that helped
