Mate doesn't want to overclock! ¬.¬

My friend is getting saving up to get a new system

Phenom II 965

Coolermaster Extreme Cooler(the one with the adjustable control on the top lol)

etc... and he says he doesn't want to overclock because there is no point.....

He does my head in, free performance and he isn't willing to do it, for what i can only guess as just being stubborn... is there any arguments i can use against him to make him see the obvious error of his ways...

Thanks

He might not need the extra performance.

Why bother spending time tinkering and potentially breaking things when there is no need. I used to run my Q9550 at 3.8ghz... but I put it down to stock and noticed no difference, so I no longer keep it OC'd. Saves me a lot of electricity too.

You could tell him to get the Phenom II 955 BE (or lower), since those 200mhz won't matter anyway, right?

Exactly my point, though he is getting an 965 when he could easily get a 955 for 3.4 GHz yet overclocking won't do, i don't get it... get a 955 and there ya go

It's not like it won't be stable, my PC i spent 5 minutes pushing the clock to 3.703 GHz and i stress test when i'm not using it to keep it's stability in check like he does....

You know what, he can suffer lol d.w guys

Good point, the only thing that bugs me is the fact that he wants to get a 965 for the 3.4 GHz but won't save money and get a 955 and overclock it ever soo slightly O.o

Not my money, won't complain and will help him whenever, i guess that's all i can do since the kid is sooooo stubborn it's unbelievable

Thanks guys

just show him simple benchmarks with a stock and OCed CPU

if this doesn't convince him, i would just let him get on with his ignorance
