Chrome - .GIF's are slow

My avatar is flashing much more slowly in Chrome than in Firefox 3.5.X.

Any reasons why this would happen?

Chrome plays them at the same speed with internet explorer.
Maybe FF plays them too fast. Maybe not. Try making your own .gif with timings of your own selection and test it yourself if you want.

I've also noticed that. I think it is Firefox that is playing them at the correct speed.

.gif has no set speed so browsers can play them at any speed they are programmed to.

As far as I remember from the days of ImageReady they do.
Note the numbers in seconds below the tiles at the bottom of this screenshot, taken from wikipedia.
I'm no .gif expert though.
