well the version of windows i have i have had no problems what so ever it comes with built in sp2 so i know that aint the problem, what i am thinking is it may be a virus, or spyware really anything like that as i have had this version of windows since 2004 and i have had no problems with it what so ever, so i am thinking it has been infected and caused this problem... i have tried everything on the computers networked to it and i have tried reinstalling windows on the computers connected to my computer now so the only option i think is left is to reinstall the computer again from scratch...

thanks for the help guys

Do you run a firewall like the one in XP SP2 or Zone Alarm? If you do, the trusted zone settings might have gotten confused. If you're using a router, and using DHCP, the router might have gotten assigned a new set of IP addresses. Try turning off the firewall, and then see if you can access the router.
