Maximum safe voltage for 5770? - Page 2

I don't mind getting into this OC business ;]

Double life-time warranty = awesome

I was wondering what program to use, and if I should bother flashing to another BIOS (To unlock more awesomeness)? *but what if things go wrong and I the card with the other company's BIOS?, will my warranty still be approved?*

Not sure why I need so much less voltage than you guys. Better cooler maybe? Or maybe I got a better chip? Anyway, if 1.3v+ is safe, I'm going to try hitting 1100MHz core.

You can use MSI afterburner to overclock the core, RAM, and change the voltage. But, it'll only allow you to get up to 960MHz core. To go higher, you need to use a combination of MSI afterburner (to set voltages and fan speed) and AMD GPU clock tool (to set core/RAM speed)

Good luck getting that thing stable. If the temps go over about 70-75C you cannot get stability....

My temps don't even breech 70 @1070MHz w/ 1.275 and I only have the fan running at 60%. If it gets into the 70-75 range I'll just increase the fan speed.

EDIT: 1100MHz is a no go. Even with 1.350v I get artifacts after about 25 seconds in furmark. Looks like I maxed out at 1070 @ 1.285v but I think my 24/7 speed will be 1050 @ 1.250v because it runs a lot cooler with the lower voltage.

I would do anything possible to keep it below 1.35v.
That is the "rated" maximum. Hell, if you can avoid anything over 1.33v thats great.
Just watch your temps.

I run 1.32v for a 1080/1435.

I'm just going to keep it at 1050core/1375ram @ 1.250v for everyday use. I hate that when you don't use Afterburner to set the clock it stays at 1050core all the time.. makes my idle temps like 45C.

Nice RAM OC. You're the guy who made the backplate right?

Asus will guarantee their card even using 1.35v as there all the same would be wise to assume that all ref cards take it. Asus software will sound alarm's at 90c and shuts the card down at 125c to protect..again would assume anything up to 80c is safe 24/7 but the cooler the better goes without saying. hope that helps you

Do you guys have any problem running extreme burnin furmark test at those voltages? Mine won't hold still above 1.125 if I change the voltages, but no problems at stock voltages, I wonder why.
