I think 2.1 is the best fit for 50$ coz the 2.1 sub woofer can be powerful & sized more than 5.1, I have one of this & it has a great bass.

No I know your saying, "whoa, that's it?", but this system has some of the richest bass I have ever heard from a sub-$100 system. Abosolutley amazing , even on my craptastic SB Live.

If you want to go a little out of budget, spring for these:

My primary system for the computer, I bought a second set and run the sub in my home theator because I loved the clear, crisp bass it put out all the way down to it's limits. (Not to forget the goosebump-inducing highs from the titanium drivers.)

splurge a bit and get something like the creative t5400 set... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16836116137

despite what many will say about creatives speaker sets, theyre usually quite nice and affordable if you buy them online... I have the t5400s and theyve been great since Ive owned them... inexpensive but still have excellent sound

All of those CREATIVE woofers has 5.25' Driver but Creative 3pc I-TRIGUE 3300 2.1(http://www.newegg.com/product/Produc...ts+2.1+Speaker) has 6.5 driver. That one is good but i like megaworks series in creative, all other have a bad bass(i'm a bass freak )

I second that, Those speakers "B da Ill3St ShiznaTor Yo" for the price anyways. I got a pair and they sound awesome, Comes with a nice little wire remote.
