How much would you say one is worth?
Around $50 to $75 if it's in good working condition, though if someone wants it for the color, you might get $100 since they're getting rare (functional ones that don't need work or adjustment).
I've been a multi-monitor user since the late 90's.
I'm a developer, so my primary purpose is to spread text around, debuggers, etc.
First, there was a Sony VGA 640 x 480, with a B&W text monitor. The debugger from Borland drove that second monitor, pre-32 bit Windows.
By 96 I had various CRT setups, odd mixtures.
Then, an architectural firm dumped all their Dell 21 inch Trinitron rebadges - I ended up with 6 of them for free - but I only used 3 on the dev system (my wife and son ended up with the others). I spent an entire day adjusting them, took off the cover and adjusted focus, trimmed colors, etc.
Then I got a Samsung 2494sw, with two Dell 21" CRT's flanking left and right.
Now I have 3 Samsung 2494sw's.
Once you're accustomed, a single monitor just seems so tiny.Edited by JVene - 5/12/10 at 3:09pm
