My previous CPU was a XP 2600+ Barton

I couldn't get it to run over 1533 (1800+ speed, trust me I have one of those as well) until I upgraded my memory to PC 3200.

With 200 mhz memory the max I could get out of the Barton, and this is from memory from 6 months or more ago:

Multi x 11.5 (I think this was the max? or maybe its locked? don't remember)
FSB 184/37 (that was how it was listed with my Asus A7V8X-X, don't ask me what the /37 means)

Mhz = 2116, it ran ok but the temps frequently got into the 60's (stock cooling). Sometimes Asus would auto power down the computer due to heat (when I was playing intensive games)

That CPU is still going (and I oc'd it for a year or 2) on stock settings at my brothers house, and he uses his computer 24/7 (he has no life, i mean he's always on the comp).

Coming from a XP to a A64 I can say without hesitation its time to upgrade. Even if you get a A64 3000 you can OC it ALOT better than a XP.

2600 = 19xx stock, 2116 max
3200 = 2000 stock, 2600 oc
