amd 3700+ sand diego core
or
opteron 148 venus core?

They both oc good i hear and are both about the same price. ANy opinions?

Either processor is a crapshoot for a great stepping. With that said, you cannot go wrong with either processor.

Thanks for the help everyone. I ordered amd +3700, corsair 1gb ram xms 2-2-2-5, and an xion II case. I think its a nice setup. Any way should kick the poop out of my p4 2.4 ghz taht i ahve had for 2 years.

(getting 7800gt when i get enuff money, and another hd 250gb)

Um, got it all built now. Just waiting on a pcie vid card which i dont have money for yet. But i was wondering if anyone could help me out with ocing my pc. My 3700+ san diego is at 2.2 ghz and i wanted to get somthign at about 2.6-2.8. If anyone could help me out that would be great. As this is my first pc built and first ocing experience. Thxz

(also if anyone has a realy realy cheap vid card that will handle games like ut2k4 and css for 50 bucks and under USD pm me)

well, you can get 2.6GHz w/ the stock cooler. and the Corsair XMS wil go do DDR 465 or whatever it is. Raise the FSB to 237MHz and it should go smoothly, just remember to run Prime95 for 12 hrs after you do it.
