2gig is better than 1gig. I see you have 2x512, you can add 2x512 to that.

not always true! He wanted to know what was better for OC'ing. High performance sitcks of 512mb RAM will OC much farther and with tighter timings than 1gb sticks.

you will be able to ger to most out of 2x512
then 2x1gb
then 4x512. it puts a strain on the memory controller to run 4 sticks of RAM and thus lowers your OC, even if you have 4 sticks of the same RAM that you know will all go to say DDR600, with 4 sticks you may only be able to get to DDR500 and I would say that would be a very good OC for 4 sticks. Some memory controllers default to DDR333 when running 4 sticks and they all have to run a 2T command rate.

I'm not familar w/ your mobo, how much juice can it supply? You'll want to find out what works well w/ your board. some of the best OCing 512 sticks are Samsung TCCD and Winbound BH-5 The TCCD will typically go all the way to DDR600 with 2.5-4-4-8 timings with less than 2.9v. The BH will typically go to about DDR500 and keep tight timings of 2-2-2-5, but with lots more power, around 3.4 or more volts.

For 1gb sticks probably the best on the market is OCZ platinum PC4000, it runs about 300 a pair though.
the next best option would probably be some g-skill DDR500 F1 series.
