Question about brands

Why is it that you can buy an actual ATI card but not an actual NVIDIA card. What is with all these companies like BFG, Leadtek, XFX using the NVIDIA chip. Can anyone explain this to me. Does ATI do anything like this?

Yes, ATI has other companies use their chips to make their cards.

It seems that ATI uses fewer companies to make their cards than the nVidia does.

ATI uses Sapphire, HIS, Powercolor, etc.

Go to Newegg.com and type in ATI. It will show you like Sapphire, HIS, etc.
