Sad to hear about 10.1 beta drivers. I was really looking forward to a 10.1 fix for this. I'm upset because the card runs very cool and fast but not being able to dual monitor is almost a deal breaker for me.

You can overclock if you use the amd gpu clock tool and it won't cause flickering on the 2nd screen. This works for me with my two screens very well, only downside is that you have to set the clocks each time you boot up.

This ^

BTW the 5870 clock tool also works for the 5770

I was able to get my 5770 vapor-x to 1.274/1001/1400 with no flickering.

Bumped my vantage score up 500 points past 11k

Hi there,

If you're not afraid of modifying your bios then you can use the latest Radeon bios editor soft as it supports now the 5xxx series.
I did not managed to find a working frequencies couple yet but sure tonight i will fix this.
I only tried 157/600 yet into bios.

I just had Sapphire send me the newest bios version for the VaporX 5870. I played all night last night with ZERO flickering.

I'll post this tonight... the procedure which you can find all over the net is to:

1. use HP USB BOOT Tool to make your USB bootable
http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/330/.html

2. use these boot files to when running HP USB tool:
http://www.4shared.com/file/43544416...FILES.html?s=1 (Extract them, then make a folder called BOOTFILES, stick the extracted files into the folder

3. copy ATI Flash to usb
http://techpowerup.com/downloads/1731/.html

4. copy old bios (saved using GPUz) to usb
http://techpowerup.com/downloads/1709/.html

5. copy new bios to usb (I have this file and can send it to those who need although the one I got was sent from sapphire and may be specifically for the 5870 VaporX)

6. Restart computer while USB is plugged in and hold down F8 then choose to boot from the USB

7. At command prompt type

c:/atiflash -f -p 0 newbios.rom

(newbios.rom can be whatever the name of your new bios is that you copied over to usb)

Like I said, I have the new version 2 bios for the Vapor-X 5870. If you need it then send me a tell and I'll email it to you

Works like a charm !!

I'll upload the bios file somewhere. I didn't take any GPUz screenshots of the old bios but I can take some of the new ones and link them here when I get home later.
