[Businessweek] AT&T Mulls Plans to Deal with iPhone Data Demand - Page 4

Had a 3G and got tired of it because of AT&T's horrible coverage and 3G speeds. I won't even state the dropped calls, god awful customer service because well..that's common knowledge. I hope that AT&T stops trying to find an easy way out and realizes that "Hey guys, it seems that we will have to invest far more than the 33 billion that we say we are on our advertisement"

However, I've had Uverse the past two months and I couldn't be more happier. Blows Comcast out of the water by miles. It's funny how their Uverse CS is so much better than their Wireless CS.

The US's population is much more spread out. I guess I'm confused as to what point you're trying to make.

I see, I missed that post. So we were all arguing the exact same point? Nice.

The most pervasive issue AT&T has is the way their infrastructure was designed initially. Their entire business model was based on owning the central telecommunications hub's and providing backbone interconnectivity. The cellular network they do have is what is left of the old Cingular and CellularOne networks. Their primary business is in international communications and government contracting. This is not the same AT&T that was around thirty something years ago.

They weren't ready for the boom that followed the iPhone release. Extremely poor planning on their part. Then again no business in the US expected the populace to want phones that have the features that many Asian and European countries already had. Lack of vision on their part.

In typically US corporate mentallity they blame the consumers for their own short comings. It's always the consumers fault that they are unable to support the features they lured us in with.
