Finally, a much needed upgrade.

Well, I just placed an order to the egg. I should be getting my hardware sometime late this week or early next week. I'm getting an eVga 6600LE, 512MB of PQi DDR400 to get up to 768MB of RAM, and a Turtle Beach Riviera 5.1 sound card. I needed this, among other things, to get Myst V: End of Ages working on my computer. For some very odd reason, Myst doesn't like the C-Media chip on my computer, so I'm getting the Riviera to make it work properly. Also, Fable was lagging, so I wanted to increase my framerates. Do you think I'll be able to do 1152x864 on reasonably high settings?

Newegg just finished processing the order, should pack and ship in the morning. Can't wait to get it. Hopefully it will arrive before I have to go back to school...

My dad's buying it off of me, because our Compaq in our office doesn't do terribly well at games. It's a non-64-bit Sempron for 754, and has integrated SiS graphics, which according to SiS's website are faster than most AGP cards. Well, that thing only got 170 in 3DMark03, and I got over 1000, so we'll see about that. I live on the east coast, so it takes time for UPS to get up here.

Well, the packages have shipped, but they're not supposed to arrive until Jan. 3! My first back in school! And what sucks even more is that my graphics and sound card are already at the facility in MY TOWN!
