PC In A Fish Tank

Thread Starter
I been thinking again.
Is it possible to run a pc in a fish tank.
I think yes.
Using non-conductive fluid and 20 or 30 gal fish tank then put a pc in it. Like putting mobo, harddrive and psu in it. Using 2 fish pumps like water fall return to the tank to help cool the non-conductive fluid. Is it possible to do?
REMEMBER I MAY NOT EVER BUILD IT.

I think this is basically what you're looking for.

Also there's this folding rig by one of our own here at OCN.

Yup, check this out. Every step they took is outlined, so you can decide if you want to go through the trouble; they also did it multiple times. I want to try it so badly but I can't justify buying all the mineral oil.

You don't necessarily need a pump either.
Quote:
The mineral oil has a terrific specific heat capacity, which means that it takes a very long time to reach peak temperature -- about 12 hours.
So, unless your computer is always on, or on for very long periods of time, the oil can cool when you're not using it.

Good call. The HDD has vent holes which allow the passage of liquids too. Mineral oil (or any liquid) would slow the disk down and force it to become inoperable.
