Thread Starter
I going to buy my little bro a new heatsink for his p4 prescott, the stock heatsink just doesn't cool enough his temps are 42*C and 55*C load. I have his p4 2.8 runing @ 3010MHz
I'm looking for a good cheap heatsink nothing over $30.00 preferbly from newegg.com

What size you want for the heatsink, 90mm or 120mm?

Here's an awesome heatsink & fan (Big Typhoon):

for $50: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835106061

or refurbed same model for $35.50:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16835106061R

only thing is that the Big Typhoon is gigantic.

Here a few heatsinks that are little above your budget, but they're the most recommended for s478s.

90mms:

for $52 a XP-90 : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835109119

or for $67 a XP-90C:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835109122

120mm:

a XP-120 for $59:

I would agree with the above but if you are looking for a cheaper solution make sure the heatsink is at least all coper.

Why do you wanna pay more at newegg?

http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/home.html

Get the xp-90... its 28 bucks.

I have ordered about 5 times from sidewinder...super fast.

Big typhoon would probably be quiter and bit better. If you got Fry's Electronics around you, they got big typhoon for $50 and $15 rebate so $35 after rebates.

Nope doesn't seem like it does.
