Neat Air Cooling Mod - Page 2

I have a 120mm tumble dryer hose connected to my 120mm intake fan (Yes its a xaser 3 .yes i know it ony takes 80mm fans but i have taken the shroud off my hyper r along with the 120mm fan and modded it to fit in the 3 drive bays below the optical drive ) The air warms up a litlle on transfer but still keeps me 1% above ambient which im happy with .Yes it is a prehistoric idea but at least he took the time a had ago .And it worked well done

at my local hardware store and Lowes they had 3,4, and 5 inch ducting. For those of you who don't know. 1"=2.54cm, so 3" = 77mm, 4" = 102mm, and 5" = 127mm.

I used the 3" for my 80mm fan, and it was perfect! Because the fan is not exactly 80mm, it is more like 70-75mm, because of the plastic around it.

I would use the 5" for a 120 mm fan, the you can cut lines vertically along the 5" duct, and it will fit into a 3" ducting if you need to do that. But, I would recommend using 80mm fans with this entire setup!

This is due to the fact that your cooling is only one 120mm fan. And I assume its an exhaust? With your case sides on the 120mm fan will create exhaust. That air that's sucked out needs to be replaced. That rush of air to replace the air which is creating air flow. With the sides off air just gets taken and replaced from the nearest general vicinity.

Hehe, Mine's the same way 'till i got intake fans
