I just sold 4 identical sticks of G Skill DDR2 800 ram. They would only run dual channel when paired with a certain stick. I had to go by their serial number to know which ones would work in dual channel.
As for the OP, the difference between value ram and gaming is minimal for the most part. Value RAM does not overclock as well, but for most all uses besides benchmarking, you will not notice any difference.
Ok then, so how about Single vs Dual Channel for gaming? Coz maybe that's why the store here specified it as dual channel, because, as blupupher said, not all modules can run dual channel when paired.
Will my gaming be hindered if I use 2x2 gigs single channel?
