Make sure it's holding 3v or it may not have enough power to save the changes.

I was thinkin it wasn't saving changes or something because one time when i reset cmos and went in there set to hardrives then f10 to save changes and left. Then rebooted and went back in bios and said enter password? I didn't enter a password, lol. The battery voltage shows 3.16v in bios. Thanks, Micah

Long shot but if you have a tempermental SATA cable it may be losing the communications from 1 drive and be the cause!
I've heard of a few of the provided SATA cables being defective

Sometimes it helps to discharge the system after you switch the jumper. Push the power button a few times before putting the jumper back to the operating position. Also make sure you unplug the power supply from the wall. I read this here somewhere and it has worked for me in the past...

Well I'm only just beggining with my Opteron, but I think I've already seen the same thing as Micah...

I raised it up to 220x10, but left Vcore on auto by mistake. It set the Vcore to 1.475V and was slow as hell. I rebooted and set it to 1.4V and now its fast...?

Well, I tried all that everyone said. I left the battery out for an hour and half. Pressed the Turn On but several times without the plug in the computer. Left Clear CMOS on for long time. Put the vcore voltage on 1.4v. Same freezing on the blue screen for Windows. It did this when the voltage was to high. But I have reset everything and put it on 1.4v but no luck. Put new sata cables to harddrives. Tried putting 1-512mb of ram in it in several slots. Only thing I noticed is that when I boot the computer, The 4 lights at the bottom left on the mobo. Only 3 light when booted and then counts down to 1. And when windows loading screen appears it goes away. Then advances to the blue windows XP screens and never loads to the desktop because I waiting several minutes. But Isn't the mobo supposed to light up all 4? Muffin, How many do you show lighting up? Also, the chipset temp in bios show like 46-48 celius? Is this high or not? Damn the luck, LOL! Any Other suggestions? Thanks for the help guys!

I don't have the DFI, I use an Asus A8N

Not had one burp out of it so far, almost at 2.8GHz. Have you tried booting Windows into Safe Mode? You might have corrupted something on your HDD if the system boots but won't load XP :/
