Black Screen O Doom

Thread Starter
Story : Was water proofing my motherboard and put silicon on the bottom and top before I put neoprene ontop of it, just around CPU area. <- Mistake.

Now: When I turn my computer on with a reg heatsink nothing displays on the screen. I have tested my vid card and I am pretty sure it works. Whats your guess... the CPU or the mobo? I have also tried putting everthing else on a spare asrock mobo. I turned it on and saw stuff go over and over then it tried to boot into windows and restarted. Now it doesnt even turn on, all the fans spin but nothing displays on the screen.

Cpu. You shorted it. Silicone is the semiconductor they use in chips.
You created a 'chip' 'extention' lol. Anyway, try removing it? Then try cleaning the back with alcohol. Then try booting again. If that doesnt work, get a friend's computer and crosscheck the components to find what doesnt work. When you do that, RMA the part thats disfunctional.

Alright, I checked and everything else at my house is from the dell outlet and my two friends have amd, so uh.. I guess I just have to guess its the CPU because i have another ASRock mobo that worked last time i checked it, and now it doesnt :-(.

On that note, Im thinking of building a whole new system. Opetron dual core 2.0 2mb catch with ati crossfire x1800xts sound good? Meh just a thought.

Now when I turn on the PSU all the fans start spinning but I havent pressed the power button....
