How hot is to hot for the cpu? How hot should the north bridge be?

a cpu should not go above 50c... that's pretty hot...

Hmm above 50 is fine.... A lot of people try to keep their temps under 55c.. but under 60c on load is fine - your chip (a64) is made to go way over that but its better to be safe than sorry... Lower is better

Absolute max for an AMD 55C at max load. Anything over that and you're shortening the life of the CPU. Staying under 50C at max load would be about as high as you should get, but up to 55 should be okay. Serious wearing down of the CPU won't start until around a little over 60C and it won't melt/be seriously damaged until a little over 70C.

Have your warning temp at 55c and shutdown at 60c (in the bios) and you will be sweet as

yea 47c max load should be just fine for that processor. If its stock cooling, you might consider upgrading and pushing it a little more

Yea i'd like to get that zalemon heatsink/fan or however u spell it but it seems so big, and i have the new Asus A8N32-SLI-Deluxe with the pipe cooling that runs through out the MOBO so i dont think it would fit on my MOBO.
