I think ASUS is better quality boards. They have great tech support, and ASUS loves to OC. It is sort of like why Honda is better than Hundai!

Well, I would go DFI. I owned ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI and DFI and I must say that DFI is by far the best for OCing and gaming. Superfast. The ASUS was not OCing friendly and I really hated it, specifiacally that I could not get stable over 2.2ghz with my 3200+. I have been running the DFI in my sig for about 4 months now and I absolutely love it. DFI did not just get to the scene either. DFI has a unofficial support forum that is really helpful, but it is not owned by DFI, but by an employee at DFI. www.dfi-street.com

That is just a support forum, so all you will see there is issue's that people are having. When I switched from my ASUS to the DFI, I was so amazed at how much faster my system was when just loading into windows. It took 6 to 7 passes of the XP bar before it loaded into windows. With the DFI, the XP bar does not even get 1 pass through before it loads into windows.

Same goes for other brands I listed other than the DFI. I think it's a must have. Now the DFI boards can be picky at times, but the result will be very pleasing.

the asus a8n sli does not compare in overclocking to a DFI, the asus has problems and does not support chipset voltage control( I think) DFI all the way if those are your 2 brands.

I would go DFI personally. It's one of the fastest boards, and it overclocks like a mofo!

What others would you say compet with them. I was a compUSA and they just reseved a board from Gigabyte unsure what it was called but it looked pretty decent.
