3800+ dual core

Thread Starter
Hello my friend just got a dual core 3800+ witha 7800gt and 1 gb of corair RAM. He plays cs and other games which dont support dual core making his experienec horrible. When you open the game you can go into task manager and turn off one core and its fine. My question is is there a way to auto set cores for certain programs so he doesnt have to do it everytime. thanks

I have a AMD 64 2X 3800 and I have no issues running any games. COD2, CS/S, Swat or anything else. No need for making any change, at least with my set-up.

Yea, people have told me to set my affinity to cpu0 or cpu1 before, but i have no trouble running it on two cores. Actually I lag less running my games on both cores. I have a 4400 X2.

the only time you should need to set it to 1 core is if the game tries to run double speed (looks like speed hacking) other then that its just going to break up the work load between the two cores so it may not be any faster then a single core 3800+ but if you wanted you could do other stuff in the background

so far the only game that ive had issues wiht is planetside because it tries to double the speed of some of the stuff so i have to se it to one core
