Hi all. Some awesome pic's in this thread!!

Can anybody tell me if the Venomous-X fits in the 932 without removing the side fan? I'll be using an ASUS R3F board.

TIA!

The VX isn't as tall as the Archon (archon being one of the tallest of air coolers), and I asked someone who had an Archon and a 932 and it fit his 932 perfectly fine without intruding on the side fan. So I'd say yes.

Im deciding between Venomous X Black and MUX 120 Black.

I don't know if the Venomous will fit with the Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD4 and G.Skill RipJaws X. The Mux 120 won't be a problem because it's thiner and high enaugh but i think the RipJaws X would fit under the Venomous aswell if it's as high as the MUX 120.

This pic shows how high are the RipJaws

This is MUX 120 on the GA-P67A-UD4 and higher memory then RipJaws

and MUX 120 on the GA-P67A-UD4 and bit lower memory then RipJaws

Question on these kind of Tower fans~ I just bought a VenX-RT for my new 2500k~ and I currently have a Zalman 9700NT.

I have the Zalman in a vertical position where the air is coming from below and exhausting directly to the top of my case. Since I have an Antec-900 2 ~ I have a large 200mm fan that's blowing a ton of air from the top and it performs a few degrees cooler in this fashion.

So far I have not seen any of these large tower fans in this position, but is this because they can not be mounted this way, or is it because of other issues like fit and the like?

I also have some Corsair Vengeance ram on my case, and I think the heat spreaders are going to interfere with the heatsink on the first slot. I currently only have slot 2 and 4 filled, but this is probably going to cause problems in the future isn't it?

no it's usually because when mounted with exhaust going upward the cooler is pulling hot air from the graphics card area.

YMMV and that's why it's always best to try both ways of mounting for your setup. BenchmarkReviews or Anandtech or PCPer had a thing on it a while ago. I can't remember which haha.

:edit:
as for your memory heatspreaders, i have these and it clears them fine

Thanks for the help~ I'll test both setups and see which one is more successful.

Another question for Ven-X users. You might know more than me, but the Venemous-X RT comes with a white (or black it seems) fan shroud for the Thermalright fan it comes with. Can this shroud be purchased by itself? If not, are there other fan shrouds out there that would work on the Ven-X?

I like the look of it, and looks a lot more secure than fan clips. I'd like to purchase two. :3

As with any of the Ven X coolers, please be careful of socket crush. The hsf should not be tightened down 70lbs.

I just want to tighten it down to the point where it's on my motherboard securely. Is it easy to tighten to 70lbs accidentally? Do I have to do something 'additional' to do that? Or can I just mount it like any other heatsink, wiggle it to make sure it's on there and call it a day?

If there a little wiggle that's fine, just check your temps.
