5.1/7.1 Problem

By default my sound card must be 5.1. But now it shows it support 7.1 (But there isnt any outlet for "Side Speaker Out"). Is it a software problem?

PS - Check the attachment

I think that it's saying that if you attach 5.1 setup to your sound card, it will simulate those side speakers, but not offering hardware support for 8 channels (due to inputs). Of course, the sound quality of a simulated 7.1 setup won't compare to a full 7.1 setup. If you have a 5.1 system setup, it is best not to simulate a 7.1 setup, but the software lets you do that if you choose.

As already said it only simulates 7.1, bit daft why they put the option on though. To run 7.1 you 7 speakers and a sub. Simple. If you want 7.1, get a new sound card that can support it.
