Just installed Windows 7, creative autoupdate unable to detect product"

really weird...my sound is working, when I click playback devices it says my speakers are creative SB-X-Fi, but when I run creative autoupdate it says no product can be detected??!

I dled the drivers from the creative site.

any idea whats going on?

Did the drivers worked properly on windows vista before? Maybe its a driver compatibility issue on w7

Personally, I hate auto update. I just download drivers manually and check for new ones every so often.

Yes. Creative Auto Update has royally messed my PC once before...ONCE. Do a manual check every few weeks instead.

As long as you see the device in the device manager it's not a problem. It's a Creative Auto Update problem and those you can definitely live with.

I would consider this suggestion, usually auto updates has a lot of issues with drivers. Better avoid problems and look for the drivers manually.
