The funny thing is, Primochill coolant will actually keep your loop warmer than pure distilled water. Anything added to a loop (other than distilled) will lower the specific heat capacity of the liquid, and thus increase temperatures.
If you're not worried about gunk from dye, than think about the temperature gain you'll see by skipping the marketing hype. On top of that, the non-conductive property of something like primochill will go away over time anyway!
I'll try to grab a few thread about dye bombs and what they do, but in the mean time, remember that any coolant you buy is most likely
a waste of money.
EDIT: Did you ever open up your block after you were having issues with Fesser dyes Monst3r? You've only been using the primochill bomb for a couple weeks, give it time to gunk up in a month or two and see what it looks like.Edited by iquark - 1/2/10 at 10:19pm
