Video encoding while overclocked

Thread Starter
Hi ,

Am I stupid or simething (^_^) ,
But would overclocking not be a good idea when overclocking at the same time.
I have my FSB set at 220 Mhz and 1:1 Ram Ration 2.5 3 3 8 Samsung DDR 512 PC3200 . Everything is fine and dandy , but as soon as I start to encode a video to put on my ipod video , things start heating up fast !!! ...

So I've seen people write that they have their Pentium 4 3.0 E prescott (whiich i do) on a ASUS P4P800Se run up to 3.6 GHZ without problems...

What is the solution here, am I forced to run a stock speeds just if I want to encoding, or am I forced to switch from regulat air cooling to water cooling,

Please advise
thanks

The heat increase is normal since you're CPU is probably being used at 100%. Everything is fine and normal.

Yeah man, real hot indeed. Do you even have Arctic Silver 5 on your CPU? I'd start with that ASAP until you can get some better cooling to keep that hot CPU under control.

You need to stop overclocking until you get better cooling.. When video encode it will usually push your CPU 100%.. just like folding or stress testing. and that is not good to do when your running that hot.
