you must have a pretty cold room, only a +2c increase on load is pretty minimal. Good work. From what I have seen, those venices dont like a lot of voltage....be careful !!

Maybe I should try a lower multi and higher fsb??? I've still got mixed thoughts on doing that though, some say low multi high fsb is good... some say the opposite
Bah, I suicided mine at 1.68v for about an hour with no issues , of course the crossflow in my case combined with my XP-90/92mm is probably the equivelent of a F5 tornado

Anyways, don't be afraid to run a divider on these Venices. I'm at a steep divider right now, things going on in my life have restricted me getting the ram I wanted, so I figured I'd see how well it would perform on a big divider, and they perform great. Not as good as if it was 1:1, but it's WAY better than stock. I would just put it on a divider, and then do your overclocking. If you have DDR400, keep going on the FSB so you can keep the mhz of the ram up there. If your at 270x10, and your ram is running at 200mhz on a divider, and you have decent ram, you can go a little higher and so on and so on. Gotta keep trying

That's the great thing about the A64's, dividers dont really hinder performance at all. Sure there is a slight hit, but it's worth getting the most out of the chip and let your memory run where it needs to

Yep, exactly

The Venice seems to run great on a divider

what does ldt/fsb mean?????

I had mine set to 10x multi and 275fsb.... started up nice and sweet but had a error in prime95 after like 15mins...... my ram was around 200mhz still... i was wondering if the ldt/fsb would change anything?

I have a 3500+ venice and mine wont even POST above 2.7GHz and the highest i can get it stable is 2.57GHz, anything more than that and it fails prime95 pretty quick. I guess it all depends on which revision you get, mine is DH-E3.

the room i have my pc in is proberly around 20 - 25 degrees celcius. anything under 1.6volts and it wont post. i was wondering if i was possible to overclock my ram cause as soon as it gets 1mhz above 200 its starts giving errors. Half the reason my comp is so cold is because of the zalman 9500 led cooler. In certain reviews it is said to be better then water cooling.

well I got the 9500, and some reviews have said that, but after using it, no. It's an excellent cooler and does a great job. Just not water

I have a DH-E6 revision and it will only get to 2.6 GHz stable @ 1.65v. i think its all in the stepping, but since my heatsink is glued on right now w/ some AS5 (and i have no more as5 lying around), i can't tell you the stepping. but some of the 3500+ are good and some of htem, well they are meant to be 3500+

as far as voltage goes, it'll handle up to like 1.7v w/ good cooling, but i wouldn't recommend it. 1.65v plenty high enough. and since you have crappy memory, a divider is your best friend.
