MSI FX5900 vs eVGA 6600GT - Page 2

dude...before i start flaming.....I havent been to this site in quite some time,if you were as curious a you are problematic you would have clicked the link and seen that it doesnt even work anymore anyway,so..as far as a 6600 not lagging a bit,I watched Far Cry bring one to its knees bud while the 5900 kept on singing.BF2 Is a system intensive game as it is and if you are triing to run it at those settings...NASA wants thier PC back!
When it comes to sheer speed, the 5900XT kicks the 6600GT's arse with no problems....now like I said in the prior post(if you read it thoroughly),The IQ is gonna suffer on the 5900 simply because the GPU isnt the powerhorse the 6600 GPU is....obviously....! So...if its speed he wants,go 5900XT,if its pristeen gfx and a slightly lower FPS,then 6600 baby.

The FX series cards are crap. Theyre very inneficient. Thats why the 6600GT can beat it with a 128bit bus cause its way more efficient. Just look at some benchmarks. The 6600GT will beat the living crap out of the 5900 in any DX9 game.
Very nice!

my 5950ultra seems to keep up fairly well with my friends 6600gt 128meg, though my cards is a 256meg so that mite make a bit of a difference.

Welcome back Ge-Force! I remember the days when you did crazy stuff with your 5700le (flashing it into 5700ultra and stuff).
And as for 6600 vs 5900, the 6600 woud own in almost any game this generation because the FX series are radically bad at DX9 games. They can only be compared in DX8 or lower games.
Exactly, they all(FX) have very poor support of DirectX 9 functions, where any card manufactured by ATI starting from Radeon 9700, which also BTW powns the 5900..., also they have the past generation shaders, you just can't deny that it's regardless to the performance!.

Not to mention the 5950 is like comparing a 6600 with a 6600GT. Ge-Force, I know you think your right, but I must have NASA's PC, because with BF2's settings all set on high and 1280x.. resolution I am experiencing NO LAG whatsoever. I'm glad NASA purchased the same computer as the one I built

Finally....someone is coming out of the woodwork....I like to rely on personal experience, not factual writeups that are "dug-up" on the net.Done the test and my bud turned around ,took his 6600GT back to the shop and purchased the 5900XT and right away scored much higher in aquamark, same PC setup.(and yeah my 5700LE is consistantly scoring 32,000 in aquamark )

Im not saying the 5700 is bad, nor is the 5900 but I am saying that they aren't as powerful from my experience. Yes they're 256mb of ram, but no they don't work as well as my 6600GT. On basically the same computer except different motherboard, an agp based 5700 was uncomparable to the pci-exp16 based 6600GT. I tested it with the same BF2 settings and it lagged majorly, not only was there fps lag, but during intense play it would have multi-second spikes. I have yet to test the 5900 but if it's comparable, I doubt the 256bit older technology can break the 6600GT's. But overclocked, it may be something else, although I am going to see if I can get my hands on one. You said XT? Give me the link to the aquamark you used. I want the same version everything to test what this one scores.

PS: I'm using a shadowcard in my secondary SLI slot.
PPS: BigVal (admin) will put points (bad) on your account for having more than 8 lines in your sig.

GG, he was more or less comparing memory size... I think it is about time you upgrated to a decent card, ie 6600GT, and then you will know the difference. (oh btw, i have seen some 6600GT's score 75k in Aquamark)
