Please help with selecting new mobo

Thread Starter
I need a new MOBO that will provide very similar results that my previous Asus P4G533-LA did. I will be using same memory, drives etc. So I need to be able to convert straight over to the new board with my current stuff? If possible? My budget is $75 and or below. The computer is basically for my two 7-8 year old girls. I don't need any high speed gaming stuff etc.
Appreciate the suggestions!
Zack

You will probably have to rebuild Windows though (You can try moving drives around, but HAL differences... May just blue screen on boot..)

This an HP or CPQ or custom built?

(My guess is PC2100 on the RAM)

zlever, here's the info related to your mobo: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/g...cname=bph07845
Basically you have a Pentium 4 (478 socket) with DDR ram.
Check out this page and this one:

I have decided to get a Intel D845GLVAL Socket 478 ATX Motherboard to replace my old one thqt went bad.
Are there any certain rules I need to follow when I convert a large majority of my current stuff over to the new board?

I'm hoping that if I can properly hook it back up---My computer should be back up in running in no time.

Thanks for all the help--Zack

You might need to reinstall Windows because you are changing mobos and chipset drivers will differ.
Backup your files before dismantling the old machine.
