Hey guys

So got some money for x mas to get myself going for a computer

I ordered the parts on the 28th of December, and i'm expecting them tomorrow morning

Here's my list,

X1 AMD Athlon II X3 435 2.9GHz
X1 1024MB of elixir Ram 800mhz (Yes I know)
X1 ECS A780GM-M3, AM2+
X1 JCP Midi tower with 500 Watt PSU
X1 Seagate 7200RPM 80GB HDD
X1 Samsung DVD-ROM

Plan on buying a Nvidia XFX GTS250 (I think it's called that?) for my b day and over time get 4GB of ram and a new PSU

ahh - about the ecs motherboard ==" ecs mobos are bad. I have one myself and i regret it =[

edit: they arent really good overclockers and the quality isnt that great either. I know that they are cheap - but to upgrade the parts, you'll needa good foundation to build on (which is the motherboard)

im not trying to flame or anything - im just trying to speak from personal experience

I'll never purchase another ECS product.

The motherboard I bought for my brother's build ECS G31T-M(1.0) worked fine when I first installed it. Then my brother complained of it being super slow. Well after a week or 2 I looked at it and OMG it was slower than my old AMD K62-350mhz. Seems for some reason the mb changed the hd to UDMA dual mode 3 (whatever that is) instead of the DMA Mode 5 that the HD was (and even under auto it showed it as being DMA 5 HD) so I manually set all the HD settings and now it runs fine.

And I saved $30 and got a ECS 8800 GTS that will not overclock and doesn't and at stock settings sometimes crashes 3DMark06

I've heard many people saying that it isn't a good board, because the BIOS don't let you overclock or something...I've no plans to overclock my CPU at all, so i was fine with it.

also Title fail lol can't spell first
