Even though the FX 60 has two cores, the slower clock results in poorer performance. Two X1800 XT Master card edition in Crossfire with standard X1800XT scores 13560 with the FX 60 CPU while the FX 57 scores 14200 in 3Dmark05. It's very simple - the faster clock beats its competition.

There are no multi-threaded applications yet , but there will be very soon.

Let someone clock the FX60 to each 2.8ghz and then compare it to the FX57, I think that would do pretty good

Or just make a 3DMark that supports Multi-Threading and watch the X2's and FX-60 PWN the FX-57...

What difference would a fake score mean? Nearly all games are won by the FX-57 and by the time that is no longer the story, it'll be time to upgrade to another machine again.

That would be the 4400+, which unfortunately still runs about $500... There's always an Opteron 165 for $300 if you don't mind a x9 multiplier though!

But what they leave out is in a year and a half the FX 57 will be half the speed since its only single threaded...

I dont care what reviews say...I say get a dual core under all circumstances for the next comptuer.

Like they say the 3200+ is faster then a Pentium D, yea, it is but in a year and a half.....the Pentium D will kick it away.

I wouldnt buy any single procesor....dual core forever.
