Cooling my hd

I have a compaq presario case and i was to cool my hd but thereis no way to put fans on the front of the case cause of the stupid power button
so i dont know what to to now

hdd can get pretty damned hot, is there not a bracket for an 80mm fan? ive seen quite a few mass produced computers with them, just a case of fitting

Most components will suddenly fail if their temperature gets too high. You can run them at almost-too-hot indefinately, but a few more degrees and they either become very unstable or burn out. Harddrives tend to suffer more slowly. If you run them too hot, they dont just stop working, but their working life is greatly reduced. They might be fine for a few months, or even a year or two, running at 40c. But they will fail. A properly cooled drive will last much longer.

Hard Drives have motors, the cooler the motor is kept, the better / longer life the hard drive will have.
