overclocking limitations?

Thread Starter
I just bought a 939 3700+ with the ASrock 929 dual-SATA2 and the most i can put the freqency is up to 265 and after that it just goes to a black screen and cannot boot windows. Also whenever i try to change the mulitipliers it goes back to the default x11. can anybody help?

Did you raise the vcore? Your ram might also be overclocked too high. Put it on a low frequency divider when trying to find your max cpu oc.

im not overclocking the ram its just that for the cpu the multipliers and voltage all go back to the default settings and its only the frequency that ever changes

Please fill out your system specs in User CP at the top left corner so it'll be easier for us to help you.

As you raise the FSB, the speed at which your RAM is operating is also raised.

Yeah amped is right, the FSB and the ram frequency are directly related. Like I said, I reccomend putting your ram on the lowest possible divider to make sure that you can focus on finding the maximum cpu oc. Also what is your LDT multiplier? Try lowering it because you FSB times the LDT multi shouldnt be over 1000.

this is my first time overclocking, and nothing in the BIOS is saying anything about the RAM dividers and such...

Is there anything similar to DRAM Configuration? Also Check what your LDT Multiplier is cause it should be at 3.
