GUIDE to Enabling "Unofficial Overclocking" in MSI Afterburner - Page 4

I posted about experiencing similar hard locks after enabling unofficialoverclocking in the 6850/6870 owners thread. In my case, I get a BSOD (dont remember the error # right now as I'm at work; will post it again). Has anyone figured out a solution to get it to work for those that had the crashes? I'm starting to think it might be mobo related. Will also ask in EVGA mobo forums.

When i overclock the core even slightly it reduces my 2D clocks from 400MHz to 150MHz causing screen flicker. I'm on 10.12 drivers

Anyone else have this problem?

Apparently in version 2.1, in order to enable the unofficial clocks in afterburner, you have to do this:

You need to alter the following:

Find the UnofficialOverclockingEULA field in the MSIAfterburner.cfg located in the installation folder and add following text:
I confirm that I am aware of unofficial overclocking limitations and fully understand that MSI will not provide me any support on it
Set UnofficialOverclockingMode to 1

It should look like this:

UnofficialOverclockingEULA= I confirm that I am aware of unofficial overclocking limitations and fully understand that MSI will not provide me any support on it

I wish i could take full credit for this but i found this on another forum. Great info non the less. I have verified that this works.

I wish this worked but i still can't go past 775 core on my 5850. Are there any alternative overclocking programs?
