Maximum memory MHz X800GTO

Hi,

Managed to get my core to 600 stable...what's the deal with people getting 1000MHz memory speeds?! How is this?! Would my card do that?

It's not acctually 1000Mhz, it's 500Mhz.

Because it's DDR (Double Data Rate) memory, data is sent twice every clock cycle so 1000Mhz is the effective clock speed and 500Mhz is the acctuall clock speed

There's only one way to find out if your card's memory will do 500Mhz and that's to try and see how far she goes

1000(Mhz) would be the DDR speed for somebody with a card running at 500Mhz.

What's up with dudes getting over 500MHz?? I can't get my clock to that, I have it on like 470MHz, I have a X800GTO 256MB AGP card (R430, AGP 8x, GDDR3 !!) and the original clockspeeds are: 392/350MHz.. I mean, that sucks? 4644 3DMark05 score.

Unfortunately, the R430 core doesn't overclock as well as the R420/R423 or the R480. Yours is still a good overclock and will raise your performance quite nicely over stock
