Get a new processor, your video card is ok. How much money do you have to spend?

BF2 loves its cpu's....that means your Celeron is not making it happy. 1. get a cpu, 2. a mobo, and that 2gb of ram that you seem to have coming, and BF2 should play fine

i know the celeron D 355 will OC to 3.4ghz, so i plan to get a new mobo, and oc it, but in the meantime i just want to reduce the 40-odd processes running at startup, to free up some resources, just need to know which ones are essential.

If Im not mistaken Celeron does 3 processes per clock cycle. A P4 does 6. So:

Your celeron at 3.4= 3.4 *3 = 10.2
A P4 at 1.7 * 6 = 10.2

So your celeron OC to 3.4 is equivalent to a P4 at 1.7 Ghz

Plus celerons only have live 256kb of L2
