[BRIAN 1/7/2010 7:07:23 PM] Hi, the newer version of that card will have 1 corssfire connector. Thanks, Brian. (XFX tech support)

XFX is up to it again :/

See whats wrong with this picture?

One of the cards is a PCB cut version

Original:http://www.newegg.com/Product/ImageG...20Video%20Card

Custom PCB:http://www.newegg.com/Product/ImageG...20Video%20Card

and:http://www.newegg.com/Product/ImageG...20Video%20Card

Also:http://www.newegg.com/Product/ImageG...20Video%20Card

Why this poses a problem:The custom PCB versions (All but the original) do not have support for 3-way crossfire (Only 2 way), have different sizes from the original (XTreme and XXX versions are longer, egg shaped version is shorter) and have different heatsink placements (The egg shaped card has the cooler placement way in the back of the card)

My story:I ordered the original card, waited 12 days, received the card, opened it up, and put it in my motherboard. Now, I noticed a few things..1.was that the DVI ports where red rather than black. 2.that the card was longer that the original. 3.The card only has 1 Crossfire plug. Now I have to send the card out.

^How to tell if you have a custom PCB card^

What happened?:XFX discontinued original PCB 5770's and are now ONLY making their own PCB 5770's. These 5770's are missing a power phase, longer and only support 2 way CF.

That sux man, but I'm a little confused. Couldn't you just rearrange the cards so the new one is either at the top or bottom where you will only need one crossfire bridge?

Must mean that there is a problem with the first models then.

No, the first models are perfectly fine. Custom PCB models are made to save $$

This is a warning thread, the other wasn't. That thread was more a "Should I keep it" thread. When I posted that thread, I thought it was just a new refinement of 5770's, but its another XFX custom PCB. This thread also explains the problem and shows how to identify weather you have a custom PCB model or not.

Why does the back of the card look.. crappier? Does it make the card crappier (xfx)?
