Geil BH or Geil TCCD?

Hey everyone,

I am wondering which RAM will be better for my system, this Geil BH or this Geil TCCD. I'm wondering which would be better for my system and what the main differences are.

The TCCD offers the vdimm restricted MBs the ability to get high speeds and good timings. Since you don't have that restriction it's a coin toss but the BH will require active cooling when you hit the 3v and higher vdimm.

So will they preform equally? It seems like the TCCD overclocks like mad.

I think TCCD will be better. TCCD is great because it helps ocing.

BH because you have an 11x multi. Had you've had an Opty 144 or 146 then I'd say TCCD hands down.

TCCD=higher possible HT. Tighter timings doesn't really affect much real world performance, just maybe a bit in benchmarks.

What if I wanted to drop my multi to 10x, then you would say the TCCD?

TCCD if you want to go over 300MHZ, if you want around 250-280, then BH .

I woun't get BH though, since that thing will gets hot at 3.0+vdimm

In that case then sure. I prefered the flexability of TCCD when I had my 11x multi SD 3700+ Then I found myself never using the 11x which is why I now have a Opty 146 instead of a 148 or 150. And the timings, like you said, don't make that much oh a difference when OC'd.

edit: BH won't hit 280 FSB, you'd be lucky to hit 270. They seem to top out around the 260's. And the heat can be taken care of with active cooling but IMO TCCD is a better long term investment because they run way cooler.

I can understand what transonics saying but dont necessarily agree with it... with that higher multi, you wont need as much headroom as the tccd will give you... but the bh5 will require a bit more experimenting to really find the balance between speed and timings... and even then its going to top out early and will require higher vdimm for tighter timings

so heres another vote for the tccd... you wont have to worry as much about voltage and itll give you plenty of headroom... the timing difference between the bh and tccd wont be that big once you get your tccd up there
