A8N-E Ethernet Drive Problem

Thread Starter
Okay, I finaly have verified what my problem is... nvida nforce ethernet driver on my mobo. For the last month, I have received the blue screen of death on a daily basis. At first I thought it was my ram. Today I unplugged the ethernet cable and used my laptop directly wired instead of wireless. The moment I plugged the ethernet cable into my desktop, it went blue screen.

So far, the only 2 errors that I remember are:

IRQ_DRIVER_LESS_OR_NOT_EQUAL

and (this most recent)

An attempt was made to execute non-executable memory
*** STOP: 0x000000FC (0xF7A73954, 0x0761163, 0xF7A73890, 0x0000001)

Do you guys have any recomendations?

I've already updated new nvidia drivers and bios.

The only way I was ever sucessfull correcting that " IRQ_DRIVER_LESS_OR_NOT_EQUAL" was a full reinstall but it was not a NIC problem
All the BS on it at MS's web sight was useless!
You could try removing the device in the Device Manager. Shut down and remove it in the BIOS. Reboot. Then reenable it in the BIOS and let XP reconfig it!

Yea, I believe he's talking about windowsxp, but I wouldn't go as far as to just reinstall, unless thats your last resort, I think you should probably do what he said about going to device manager and disabling, however I dont know how to disable it in the bios. But wherever it is, it should say [Enabled] and of course change it to [Disabled] look for "on-board devices" or somthing along those lines, and you should be able to find it. And actually instead of disabling it in device manager, you should Uninstall it, but before you do any of that make sure that you have the Drivers on your computer just incase somthing happens w/ your internet to where you can't connect becasue you don't have the proper drivers.

Okay, I uninstalled it, disabled in the bios and then started windows.

Because it is disabled in the bios, windows does not see/recognize it. Should I install the drivers now, or should I enable it so windows does recognize it and then install the drivers.

Thanks again,
Sam

No, now you want to enable it in the BIOS, and it MIGHT show up as an unknown device, or it might show up as what it really is, try it see what happens.
