i just started foldin and im gettin 5s/frame. is this good or bad?

Well if it is really 5/s per frame that is amazing, i get 3/m a frame not second.

the frames are not all the same size, there is probably infinite different sizes of work to do, some jobs i get on the duron 800 seem to go faster (-500) than my other 2 rigs which are clearly a lot more powerful.

WUs vary greatly in terms of frames and time per frame. Without knowing the exact core and WU, it's impossible to assess your progress. As Mangimar stated, though, all progress is good progress when it comes to folding.
